My wife & i walked by...seemed like a nice place...lots of money poured into it, with at least 2 big flat...

Several years ago, on an all but dead site where dozens of ex-Jpusa's posted their horrific experiences at this cult, it was brought up that there is a sizable arsenal of firearms at Jpusa. A privileged few Jpusa members went on hunting trips , thus explaining (partially?) the presence of said arsenal.

Anyone know about this?

Aren't their firearms restrictions in Chicago?

Why are the message boards bring ignored...?

Message boards, such as BPN, used to be very actve...now they are being ignored?

It's great that blogs, such as Uptown Update have activity.

But what I like about message boards is that power isn't just in the hands of one or two people...MANY can contribute.

Also, if an older topic suddenly becomes relevent again, a message board will bring that topic back to the top.

Certainly that can be abused (Yes, you, Mark), but overall, it's a good...

I went to this place for the first time Tuesday because I saw that they had free WiFi. I just moved back into the neighborhood so I also discovered that the Urban Tea Lounge was no longer. I had a Kenyan sandwich and surprisingly it was delicious. I was told that this week there is a spoken word event. I think its a great addition to the neighborhood.

Just a thought that occurred to me this morning - most Chicago elections are determined in a the Democratic primary, right? I mean, in 2011 when Helen's up for re-election, it's really going to be determined in the primary, right? Or are alderman elections not party based? This will be my first aldermanic election, so I'm not sure how it works.

If it is party based, do you think we can convince some Republicans to switch parties to get more support against Shiller? I...

It's out of state ( in Mass.) : http://www.meadowhaven.org is the site of MeadowHaven , a residential cult recovery center where people can stay for up to six months and get counselling, learn basic life skills, etc.
It's been in existence for about 2 years, and has received calls from ex-JPUSA's but has had none of them stay there yet.

Taped Off Apartment on Leland

Anyone have any idea what is going on with the taped-off apartment on Leland between Magnolia and Racine.? There has been tape blocking off what appears to be one unit in the building for almost two weeks now. There is even a sign that says something like "Danger, Restricted Area" on apartment's window. What the heck is going on in there?
